There are many benefits in being a driving instructor. As you will become your own boss, you can decide what hours and days you work and is a career that you can potentially carry on with part time or full time past normal retirement ages should you wish. You will meet a wide variety of people and feel a great sense of achievement as you get them through their driving test. Teaching people the skills to drive also comes with an attractive salary.
Lincoln Driving School offer a pay as you go and pre-paid driving instructor training program easing the financial burden. Our training fees are highly competitive. Training is designed to fit around your current commitments or can be taken intensively if desired. Training is provided on a one-to-one basis with the same trainer throughout the entire course duration. Your trainer will guide and assist you at a speed that is comfortable to you.
There are three exams you will need to pass in order to become a fully qualified ADI.
Part 1 is a theory based test similar to the learner theory test.
Part 2 assesses your ability as a safe, confident and skilful driver.
Part 3 assesses your ability to instruct pupils of varying abilities, novice to experienced (minimum 40 hours)
After passing Parts 1 and 2 and completing a minimum of 40 hours training on Part 3, you may be eligible to become a trainee driving instructor. This entitles you to teach driving instruction for pay for a maximum of 6 months with a driving school such as ourselves.
Once fully qualified, you have the option of either starting your own driving school or joining an existing school. Also presented will be the option of becoming one of the team at Lincoln Driving School.
Our franchise is affordable you will find and does not have a binding contract meaning you can leave whenever you wish. It also comes with continued support as and when required from business advice, resource / training material sourcing, standards test help etc.
It is only fair to advise potential Approved Driving Instructors of the pass rates for all 3 parts of the qualifying process. Currently the overall pass rate is around 28% with only 6% passing each of the three parts first time. Lincoln Driver School however has a 100% pass rate as of December 2018. This is down to the clear way that the syllabus is taught, the understanding of different learning styles and the application of different teaching methods to suit each individual. In addition to this all lessons are given on a one to one basis and not two to one as is the case with some companies.
I have had a brilliant time learning with Phil. He helped me so much with the transition from being a beginner to feeling confident on the road, passing only 5 months since my seventeenth birthday. Phil made things easy to learn and understand by putting you at ease with the challenge on driving, thank you for giving me the best platform to start driving independently on.
I contacted a number of ADI part 2 trainers in the Lincoln area. Philip promptly called me back with further information regarding the part 2 and how he could help me pass. He immediately put me at ease and talked me through the whole process. After some initial conversations with other ADI trainers in the area, it was clear Philip would be the best-suited trainer for me. Once the training commenced Philp gave clear concise instructions and walked me through all the different scenarios in the ADI part 2 test. We drilled down even further in the areas I was lacking confidence in. Philips expert training helped me to pass the ADI part 2 test first time with only 3 faults. I'd recommend Philip in an instant, he's a great guy and fantastic trainer. 5 stars !!!!!!
Brilliant ADI trainer! Patient and professional and offered full support throughout my training to become an ADI. As a result of the training I received I passed all three parts of my ADI exams first time. Without such effective tuition I would have found this very hard to achieve.
I recently passed my driving test with the help of Phil. The course I took was a semi intensive course taking up to 8 hours of driving in a week, I found this to be very helpful as I was learning a lot of driving skills within the time I had, The lessons ran for 2 hours each time and where consistent, therefore I was retaining a lot of the skills that Phil was teaching me. Phil got me from a minimal experienced driver to passing within a couple of months, which was my aim from taking the driving course, He is a friendly and polite instructor, with a great sense of humour and an endless stock of patience. If I was unsure about something Phil took time to explain it to me in a method that was suitable for my learning. I have only good words to say about Phil and would recommend him to any new driver that is wanting to get on the road.
On my 1st lesson with Phil I only had 5 weeks until my test. And I was not confident that I would be test ready in time. But as soon as I got into the car with Phil he was really friendly and eager to help me pass. With Phil's great teaching techniques I managed to pass 1st time with only 3 minors. I definitely couldn't have asked for a better instructor and I couldn't have done it without him.
